Frequently Asked Questions... and more!
How can you get the most out of your soap? Store bought soap is filled with detergents and hardeners to extend the life of your soap. We don't do that here. We do allow our bars to cure for 6-8 weeks prior to sale which extends the life of your bar.
BEST WAY TO SHOWER WITH YOUR SOAP: Wet your soap bar and rub it all over your body in one pass. Then take a wet loofah, wash cloth, exfoliating gloves, etc and scrub your body. You will notice a thick bubbly lather without overusing your bar. A little goes along way. If you do this and keep it in a dry area on a soap tray your bar could last over 4 weeks!
Extend the life of your bar! Is your bar dissolving too quickly? We have some tricks that will help you get the longest life out of your bar. Store soaps contain detergents and SLS which are artificial ingredients that keep bar soap solid when wet. We don't use any chemicals to harden our bars.
#1 Keep your bar out of water between showers. Often bars are placed in a steady stream of water and when you have multiple people using the same shower you might find your bar becomes soggy.
#2 Use a soap tray. Make sure you use a soap tray that has drainage. Do not use a soap dish. Dishes collect water and will turn your soap soggy.
#3 Don't scrub excessively with your bar. Do a couple passes over your body then take a loofah or another exfoliating accessories to scrub. You will notice the suds will drastically increase and you will prolong the life of your bar.
#4 Cut your bar with a kitchen knife into three sections going longitude. Store the remaining pieces in a cabinet or keep one at your skin for hand washing.
OUR INGREDIENT STANDARDS: Our ingredients are very important to us. After several months, we were able to formulate our own recipe. It was important to have a bar that cleaned, disinfected, moisturized, and protected without any left over residue. All our ingredients are humanely and sustainably sourced including our palm oil and goat milk. All our scents are 100% paraben and phthalate free.
Q: What ingredients do you use?
A: All our soaps have the same ingredient base. The only factors that change are the colors and scents. All scents are paraben free and phthalate free. Our ingredients include raw goats milk, aloe vera, olive oil, cocoa butter, castor oil, palm oil, coconut oil, kaolin clay, mica (for color), and scent.
Q: Do you offer 100% natural soaps for sensitive skin?
A: Yes! We offer our Farmhouse soap collection. These bars do not contain any colors, scents, essential oils, exfoliants and more. All ingredients are raw, organic, and contain our same base formula of raw goat milk, aloe vera, olive oil, palm oil, cocoa butter, castor oil, coconut oil, and kaolin clay.
Q: What makes your goat milk soap different then others?
A: Our soap is unique because we use raw unpasteurized goat milk straight from our own goats. Most goat milk soap on the market uses powdered or store bought goat milk. We believe in utilizing all the amazing vitamins and minerals found in raw milk (the way God intended it). When milk is pasteurized you loose those benefits. We also control our goat's diet. They are fed rich alfalfa, sweet grain, and loose minerals. This bumps the milk's fat content and maximizes the ingredients found in goat milk. Our scented soaps don't contain the "forever chemicals" found in most scented soaps.
Q: Why did you start making soap?
A: After Jon's injury, he had anywhere from 15-20 surgeries a week for the first month. He had multiple skin graphs done all over his body to fill in from his blast injuries. Skin graphs do not sweat or produce oil. The topical medications the VA prescribed for his skin left him dry and irritated. Eventually we stopped using them all together. We tried many natural products on the market but they either left him greasy or waxy. Since he has to push his wheelchair, he cant risk having any greasy residue on his hands or body. We formulated our own skincare line that left him clean but soft and moisturized but dry. After the shut down we decided to expand our production outside of our home to the public.
Q: Can we visit your ranch?
A: We hope to open our ranch soon to the public. We believe in transparency and we want to show you all our day to day and how Jon has regained his independence to do what he did before. Plus who doesn't want to play with baby goats!
